Job Description

We are looking to hire multiple audit and tax interns at each of our office locations.  The internship will be focused primarily on audits or taxes during the internship period.  This is a great opportunity to gain experience in public accounting and work with an amazing team!

Tax interns will be given the opportunity to work with our dynamic, experienced staff in our tax department.  Hands-on tasks and projects will include (but are not limited to) the following:
 

  • Updating fixed assets schedules

  • Assisting in the preparation of personal property reports

  • Preparing individual tax returns

  • Preparing business tax returns (partnerships, corporations, and s-corporations)

  • Accounting tasks in Peachtree or QuickBooks

Qualifications: 

  • Accounting major with a desire to pursue CPA credentials

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Strong communication skills

  • Demonstrate professionalism and accountability

  • Willingness to learn

  • Show initiative to meet deadlines

Audit interns will be given the opportunity to work with small audit teams on-site at client locations and learn through hands-on experiences with clients and working with other experienced audit staff. This includes evaluating internal controls and performing walkthroughs at client locations, communicating progress with supervisors and gaining knowledge and experience in the firm’s industries of focus. Audit interns may also assist with some of our nonprofit client filings.  The audit internship may involve some overnight travel.  
 

The internship also has the potential to lead to full-time employment in the future and may also be extended on a part-time basis throughout the summer or future semesters.
